Welcome. I'm on the Island too. Nice collection you have going. Take the half log out of the balls cage and pick up a hide box with only one opening giving a more secure hiding spot.

You know, if you put the half log flush against the glass it then has only one opening. Just put something dark behind the glass.

    Re: hello from long island

the ball python and turtles enclosures are both 20 gallon long tanks, the geckos and beardy tanks are both 10 gallon... for the mangrove monitor im doing a 8Lx4Hx4W custom enclosure.... doing it all out of wood, and the water part of the enclosure im doing some plexi-glass to be able to see under water... about 1' deep - 1.5' deep... thinking about getting a big mangrove branch and molding it into the water side of the habitat to go with the mangrove monitor theme, also give the monitor an at home feeling, gotta draw it up and get some ideas, probably going to use pool grout to form the inside of the water enclosure and to mold the branches into it... and use aquarium calk to seal it all up and a decent filteration system built in, probably a sump under the enclosure... puttin my saltwater skillz to use on my reptilians enclosure... should be clean flowing water always with that... also maybe use turtle sand water bedding... figure let him lose in the enclosure as a baby and have plenty of room to grow and be active... should grow right into it, make a wood ceiling with a few air ports and lamp holes cut out to keep the humidity at a max... also gonna get creative with the hide.... make it like a small cave, also be a nice basking spot on the top, gonna also leave a few nice branches to let him stay aborial and give him a nice variety of temp zones to relax so he can get himself comfortably and find a nice hot basking spot
