    Unhappy BP misses repetedly when he strikes

    he is about 2 years old and has never had a problem before but now i tried to feed him and he misses over and over when he tries to strike at his food untill he eventually gives up and wont eat. does anyone know whats wrong with him?

    Are you feeding live or FT? If FT it could be that you are not heating the food up enough.

    Along with the food being hot enough....check the snakes eyelids for eyecaps left from a possible bad shed. Another thing I sometimes use with frozen is blasting the head of the rodent for a few seconds with a hairdryer.....it makes it easier for them to see what to stike right off the bat.

    And it could also be defensive/warning strikes, and not feed response strikes. It sounds more to me that there's a stressor and he's not interested in feeding, but rather in removing that stressor.

    Has anything changed recently in the enclosure, your handling habits, etc?
