    Using vanilla extract?

I read somewhere in this forum that if you put vanilla extract in rats/mice water, their pee wont smell because they drink more water or something like that. What i was wondering is if this is the vanilla extract you should use?

Thats the stuff, but I am not sure how much you use for a 5 gallon bucket, I have been wondering that myself, I wanna try that soon.

    Re: Using vanilla extract?

The vanilla isn't supposed to make them drink more necessarily, but to make their pee smell more vanilla like.

    I never noticed a difference.

    Re: Using vanilla extract?

i've been using imitation vanilla in my rodent water for several years,it's not a miracle cure but cuts the edge of the odor IMO.the down side is it will slim up bottles, but to counter i add bleach to the water.

in a 5 gallon cooler i add 5 teas. of vanilla and 2 teas. of bleach, this seems to work well.have fun !

If you have city or county water you have bleach in your water...same as chlorine just more concentrated.

    Hi,

I think the "e" fell off and he actually meant "slime" - either that or I am about to start drinking vanilla to reduce the size of my humungous butt.
