    My New Black Back Lesser

When ever Ball Python people get together and the discussion turns to the must have or most popular base morphs the Lesser Platty is almost always at the top of the list. I have wanted to pick up a Lesser for years now but they were just a little bit out of my price range. This year I decided to make the plunge but I wanted one that was a little different from the norm. A couple of weeks ago I found just what I was looking for.

About a month and a half ago Matt Lerer (The Cleaner), here on the Forum hatched out a clutch from a Lesser to Enchi breeding. He posted pictures of them on a few different Forums. The clutch consisted of a couple of really nice Lesser Enchi’s but he also hatched out a Black Back Lesser that was super cool looking. Here is the picture of it that Matt posted Pre Shed.

I have been very impressed with what Matt has been producing lately so I contacted him just to see what he had available. I told him I was interested in his Lesser’s and Enchi’s. Lucky me he still had that same Black Back Lesser available. I purchased him right away. When you have a chance to purchase an animal that nice I remembered one of my favorite quotes, “He who hesitates waits”. I wasn’t about to wait.

Matt shipped him to me that same day. Now this is kind of cool, he was in shed when he arrived so I put him in his new enclosure with a moist paper towel and fresh water. About an hour and a half later my order of live rodents was delivered. As I was putting the rats up I noticed he had his face glued to the front of his shoebox and his tongue was going wild. Normally I wait a couple of days for new arrivals to settle in before I even attempt to offer food but I figured what the heck and threw in a rat fuzzy. He took it like he hadn’t eaten in a month. LOL What a great way to start out.

You have seen the picture of him that Matt took right after he hatched, here are the pictures I took of him after he had shed and settled in a bit. I think he is absolutely incredible looking but I will let you be the judge.

I hope everyone enjoys the pictures of this bad boy. Matt, if you get over here and happen to read this thanks Bro.

PS Thanks Robin for getting me off my ass and posting this.
    Thanks,

Wow that is an amazing lesser Albey! I can't wait to see what you produce with him! Any ideas on possible future pairings? As always you have some of the best looking animals around! Congrats
