    We got a Parakeet too.

Looks like Parakeets are popular right now. Well the boyfriend and I were out at the pet store and I ended up looking at the birds which I normally don't do. Out of all the others in the cage this little one came up to the perch closest to the front and just stared at us, chirped and then cocked it's head to the side. I think it was saying take me home please! lol So of course we did. Luckily I had already had Parakeets as a teenager and knew what I was in for. Plus I already had the perfect cage for the little one.

Since he/she looks to me like a cloud with a bit of sky I think we are going to name it Cirrus, like the cloud. But names do and can change after getting to know the animal better. But here he/she is.

I'll try and get some more pictures later.

    Thanks!

Re: We got a Parakeet too.

Gorgeous! I love parakeets, I got my boy for Christmas years back, he is about 12 years old now and the best little bird ever! I never could teach him to talk though...My guy's name is BlueStar and he looks a lot like yours but has a little blue star on his belly, hence the name. Great pickup, he will be a great addition
Also from what I remember, the color of the little patch of skin above the beak can tell you the sex of the bird, and I think that a bird with a purple or light pink patch is female, and a bird with a dark purple or blue patch is male. So congrats on your girl
