Anyone know of a place to buy live feeders online
Ok my local pet shops are out on third base on their feeders. Just wondering if anyone knows of an online source of live mice and rats. Looking to start my colony back but dont want to pay 8 bucks a rat. Thanks in advance!

I think that Delta Dash is the only legal way to ship live rodents, so I don't know of anyone who does it. The shipping cost alone would be huge, plus it involves both you and the shipper to make a trip to the nearest airport.

Well if you find someone willing to ship live feeders (which has to be done in special crates and from airport to airport) it will cost you over $100 in shipping alone.
Your best bet if you are to start your feeder colony without getting your rats from a pet store is to find a member that is in your area and that breed their own feeders.
Where are you located?

WV, dont really know of anyone around. I know there is a company that sells all the cinchillas(sp) and what not to the shops but they are probably mass produced.. Anyone know where the labs get their stock?

Where in WV are you? I know a couple people who might be able to help you just over the PA line. I recently got several large rats plus a bunch of small ones to raise up for a buck apiece. He breeds to sell to local pet stores. I could probably help you get mice, rats, ASFs, whatever you need.

Re: Anyone know of a place to buy live feeders online
To ship a live mammal, you have to have a vet health certificate. You furthermore have to use a special container so the rats cannot escape, and ship them airport to airport just like a puppy or kitten. It's very expensive.
Labs get around most of the cost by using special suppliers that have vets on staff, and lots of them also get the rats in by truck, not by shipping them.
It's far easier to contact a local breeder of rats, or go to a pet show to get some. Otherwise, you can get them from pet stores, or feeder suppliers.
I have a local guy who breeds feeders.

I am in the same boat. I am in southeastern NC, does anyone know any suppliers around here? I just need rats.

Another thing that hasn't been mentioned, every rat needs a certificate of health from a vet before it can be transported through freight
