Logo creation software.
I was curious if anyone knows of some software I can use to create a custom logo? I prefer some kind of freeware. I want to be able to modify the letters (make them 3d looking) and add a graphic maybe even a picture.
Photoshop probably does this but I don't have it and think it costs too much. Anyone have some ideas.

Well ... I have some way of getting the online services to do what you want. The catch is that what my tricks are .. may or may not be legal.
See, that is what sucks about having knowledge on all the technology. I know how to make websites and computer give me what I want, but I have to follow rules!
Stupid rules .. what with their fancy haircuts and delicious breads!

What I use isn't free, but it's less than $100 for an excellent program. It's called PhotoImpact by Ulead. Very similar to Photoshop and will do lots of really fun stuff.

There's always GIMP also. It can be a little confusing at first, but it's just as powerful as photoshop, and it's free. www.gimp.org

Another vote for gimp... it's only confusing if you're already accustomed to another program.

I'd say it would be more confusing if you've never used an image editing program, just because EVERYTHING is new to you. At least when you're accustomed to another program you've got a pretty good idea of what everything does. It's just figuring out where stuff is in that case.

Re: Logo creation software.
It was the first one I ever used, but then again I do learn very fast. My husband uses Photoshop for most things and is very frustrated by GIMP because it's not what he's used to.
