    Unhappy Preggo Doe Sqwishing

My Preggo Fancy mouse Freya keeps sqwishing herself between stuff and sleeping like that.... At first I thought she had gotten stuck and died but she was ok... Then a few min ago I looked and she was sqwished between her hide and the wall... Whats with her? Is that going to hurt the babies? I already moved her wheel ( that was the first thing she sqweezed under) down so she can't get under it anymore. Not only does she sqweeze herself into a tight space but she sleeps there!! What is going on?!

Does she have a hide? Are you bothering her? Mice are weird and best left alone by humans.

    Does she have any mates?

In my post I said she was sqwished between her hide and the wall. Yes she has her best friend Gaia with her and I have been leaving her alone cause she is preggo. Only bothering them to bring food and water no handling going on. Not until after she has her babies.

And before someone asks, No there is no problems with her and Gaia. they are best buddies. I know gaia is going to be a great nanny cause she is the most nuturing mouse i have ever seen. She grooms Freya and Freya grooms her. In fact without Gaia she wouldn't stop sqweeking and running about but once I put Gaia in there she calmed WAY down.

    Re: Preggo Doe Sqwishing

Have you ever been pregnant? Lol. When I was pregnant with our son, I had to sleep with my half of the bed (ok, my 3/4 of the bed) covered in pillows and extra blankets to support the weight of my belly. She's probably doing the same thing. Believe me, any external pressure that would cause harm to the babies would hurt her first and she'll move to a more comfortable position long before any harm is caused.

    Yep, beat me to it.

I was also going to ask what kind of enclosure you have them in and if it's covered. I keep my mice in tubs with felt covering all the clear plastic (i.e. the short sides and the bottoms of the long sides) and it seems to help with security issues. Mice are really picky about being seen.

And I have a few mousy girls that do the same thing.
