    Holy.... Babies Everywhere!!!

I had a couple of posts on here about how long it was taking to produce babies since I got my ASF's as weaners... Now I have 1.3 breeder ASF's and 32 babies on the ground!!! Im not sure what Im going to do with them all since they drop litters back to back.... Goodbye frozen mice and rats hello live ASF's... It has been pretty cool that there has been no canibalizing in the colony either and the females all had 10-12 babies on thier first litter!!

Right after the first litter dropped about 1 week ago they had a 2 day bloody battle in the cage... Some of the rats still had scabs on thier face and ears... But as I was told on this forum let them sort it out and they will be fine... I havnt noticed anymore fighting so i guess they know who is dominant now!! They have been very peacfull since then..

Sounds like things are going along very well now and they've sorted out whose who in that colony. You shouldn't see much squabbling between the adults now other than the occasional schooling handed out by the dominant female on occasion. Just don't mess with their colony dynamics and they'll usually tick right along producing feeders for you with good regularity.

Hope you have those grow out feeder enclosures ready. You'll want to start pulling weanlings not long after their eyes open and they are able to be fully independent of their mothers.

Yes I do, I kept my BP's in tanks up until 5 months ago when i built a rack so I have 4 20g longs and 2 10g tanks, all of them with the screen lids they sell at petsmart... I made block hoppers for all of them!!
