Switched from a small Exo to a larger one. A friend that keeps darts set it up for me.

That's a very nice set up. I've always liked the Redeyes.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

This is what I have learned.. don't quote me on it.
Poison dart frogs and many other rainforest frogs are known to be 'poisonous'.
If you want to go eat them.. then I wouldn't recommend it.. but they were meant to taste bad to prey and make them remember their bright colors meant 'stomach ache'.
The truth is, that most poison frogs are less poisonous to us than we are to them. Our oils in our skin are actually more threatening to them than the poison is to us.

Oh... so you can't hold them? D: That would suck.

How big do they get generally?

Re: New Cage for the Red Eyes

Ok, let's straighten up a bit of this lunacy.
    Red eye's are not poisonous.
Dart frogs are only poisonous in the wild due to their diet.
It is fine to hold red eyes, but it should generally be done on a limited basis and you should have clean hands as they do absorb through their skin. They are easy to keep and neat animals, but are strictly nocternal so they are not much of a show, where as darts are active durring the day time. Darts are much smaller than red eyes. I don't really have any "size scale" pictures handy, but here are two to give you an idea. This is my adult female.

Naw, like she said you can hold them. But it shouldn't be incredibly often.

Darts are usually about an inch long aren't they?

the red eyes i have kept got as long as 2 inches from tip of nose to tip of tail (or lack thereof) the legs are of course much much longer.

Very nice set-up. Whenever we handled ours we just were sure to have clean hands and mist our hands with water

Very cool set up! I just saw my first dart frogs this weekend at a show, and learned something new about their poisonous skin. Very neat!
