    Re: plastic snake racks

The problem with making your own Plastics especially out of XPVC like Chris is going to, is that it is UBER expensive.

Thats why the majority of the time, if you are going to buy a plastic rack, it is cheaper to purchase, than to procreate

    Re: plastic snake racks

I tend to disagree with that. yeah I paid 150 bucks for 2 4X8 sheets of plastic...but that will make a nice rack set up. It would be much cheaper to buy melemine...but man..I am not the hulk. I have a 8 ft tall melemin rack that houses 100 geckos and I assembled it in my house and had to have help to slide it 8 inches...HEAVY. I wil post progress pics. A friend of mine has already built racks with this and has a photo how to...Ok man heres a plugg lol..
www.ssscales.com he has them i think in his photos section. Ill be sure to post progress pics.

    Re: plastic snake racks

1/2" XPVC sheets run anywhere between $90-$125 depending on the supplier and brand. But, they are all the same XPVC, just some are imported and others are made in the USA. You can also even find them cheaper than that. The 1/4" XPVC will run you between $28-$35 on average, but some may gouge you and charge $75-$90 a sheet. Also most suppliers will cut your sheets for you to your measurements for free.
To answer your question no, I was gouged and paid 150 for 2 sheets of 1/4 inch sintra wich is rediculous. But I only have 1 supplier within a 500 mile radious so I have no other choice.
    I used piedmont plastics

    http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/pro...uct%5Fid=10432

U.S. Plastic has 24x48 - .39" sheets of expanded PVC sheets for $41 and .51" for $50. Their site is worth checking out if you plan to make custom PVC racks.
What are these mojavas I keep hearing so much about?
