    DIY Misting?

Anyone have anything? I'd like to make my own misting system for my 55g (separated cage).

I know... but can't always be here. And that gets old!
I know there are systems out there for automated misting...
    Anyone

What species are you misting here?
What are these mojavas I keep hearing so much about?

Balls... don't need much. A couple/few times a day seems to suffice

You should just get a tub or cut off some of the ventilation you currently have, that you shouldn't need to mist more than a couple of times a month at most. I thought you were talking about a chameleon or something.

    Re: DIY Misting?

Well I use a lamp for the main heat source (also have a uth on the side) and it lowers the humidity. And it's in 3/5 of a tall 55g (split it to keep 2 snakes) It'll maintain over 40 with no misting (here in the SE) but I like to spritz it a couple times here and there to make it mid-late 50's. I figure there was a DIY setup to spritz it a time or so a day....

    Here's a pic

I think that anything other than hand misting or maybe a pond fogger on a timer would make it too wet. Can you get away with using the UTH as the heat source?

    Re: DIY Misting?

Nope.. this thing is very tall and thick glass. I keep my AC around 70-72 here in the south. The current uth barely makes a temp difference. It's got a 100w heat bulb and it maintains high 80's ambient with the UTH on the side by the hide. I let it drop at night on a cycle... stays around 76-78 for around 9 hours at night.
I want to eventually go with a small rack setup (hoping to PU a couple at Repticon this weekend). This thing is too big, heavy and hard to heat.
