Whats the youngest you'd breed a male?

I bred one at 6 months and got 3 clutches. On the other hand, my Het Pied male didn't breed until he was 3 years old. Some want to and can, and others don't want to or can't. It is up to the snake and your abilities to read your animals.

My mojave male who is just now developing sperm plugs is over 300grams, and is approx 8-10mos old he just got put in with an older girl for two days and didnt lock up... i brought him out and will try again in a few days. My pastel male was the same age and has been locking up like crazy!

Yup, 4 months and about 300+ grams, saw him locked up with two females, one produced fertile eggs. However, funny thing.... He wouldn't breed the following year, just hid under the paper and wouldn't come out....

LOL, actually I put him with two different females, one of them he had bred last year. He's still pretty young, maybe he's just at that awkward stage where he thinks girls won't like him so he's gotten shy.....
