One of my near 150 gram males

I stated in another thread that I have a few males near 150 grams and here is a pic of one of them. The scale was zeroed with the cup and lid on it, so that 148g weight is all him. BTW, he is a real sweet heart and likes to have his ears and face rubbed. Unlike some of my other ASF's that will maul your hand like there is no tomorrow.

I keep all my breeders in trios in Sterilite 73qt 1859 tubs that you can pickup from wally world. Seems I'm not the only one to use tubs like this and let me say they work great!

I'm also lucky that I have hundreds of these 30" very hard and heavy duty cardboard tubes that I then cut down into 6" lengths. They are perfect for them to hide in and chew a part.

Adorable! I was looking online for heavy tubes like that a while back, but they are expensive! LOL, my old work place had them from the bubble wrap rolls and I would bring them home for the rats. They love em!

My large male is pretty nice too, he lets me pet him, but I'm certain he doesn't enjoy it. My fawn female loves dog treats and super worms, takes them from my hand.

I get the tubes from work, we have 2 large format printers and the media comes rolled up on these heavy tubes. So we've kept everyone of them and I just chop them up and use them for my rodents to hide in and chew on.

Most pet supply stores carry similar tubes... Also if you have any local printers in the area stop in they will more than likely give you the tubes from their large rolls free. They will be huge so they will have to be cut. Or if you dont want to go in and ask...I bet their dumpster is full of them.
