ASF size compared to a mouse...
How big are ASFs as adults compared to an adult mouse?
Im going to start a colony of one or the other soon, and since I will be getting a RTB soon I know that mice wont be sufficient after a while for the RTB unless I want to feed multiples.

Re: ASF size compared to a mouse...
Some people have ASFs that are larger than mice by quite a bit.
NEVERMIND. My info is retarded.
That's just from my experience.

My adult male is 90 grams. My females are both 76-80 last I weighed... if that gives any comparison.

Re: ASF size compared to a mouse...
Most of my ASF's average around 80-110 grams, but I do have a couple males that are almost 150 grams.
By comparison the largest mouse I ever produced (that wasn't pregnant) was around 34 grams.

I think you may have some really inbred ASF's... LOL, kidding! I'm not really sure why yours are so small... I would try and outbreed them to see what size you start to get.
I have a lot of boys growing up to size, so I'll see what their average weight is as they grow up.
Also take a look at their nutrition, what your feeding them quality wise.

Hmm maybe. I did get them from a petstore.
My gram scale was broken at the time too. (which is why I'm getting a new one shortly) so we'll see how big they are when that comes. :]

if your getting a red tail boa you may want to consider getting rats,it won't take long for ASFR's to be just a snack.just a thought, have fun !
