    Huh.

Well, it's me again for an update. And the wait continues. It's day 69, yep no joke, and the babes are still chilling in their eggs (They were all slit on day 63). I'm really beginning to wonder if my thermometer runs high, because everybody seems to be doing great, they're just not willing to come out.

I'm not even really sure if any of them are pipping. Some of their snouts are out in the air, but I've never seen any of them stick there head outside the egg. The one I had gotten bubbles from the moment I slit it, was looking fat, so I thought for sure 'she' had absorbed her yolk, but when I cut open the egg further, there was still a big old fat yolk beneath her. *sigh*

Yesterday morning, I saw the first tongue flicking action from one of them (which is my favorite as of now because of it). They look fully developed and ready to come out, I just see no signs of it happening. They're going to be breeder size when they come out if they wait much longer

I guess this is just the way of nature and all there is to do is keep waiting.

What temps do you have them incubated at?

Well, my thermometer has always read between 88.5 and 89.5 (never above 90 or below 88.4 in moments of extremes, except during the couple times I candled)

I'm thinking actual temps must be cooler than what your thermometer is telling you.. did you double/triple check temps with other thermometers or just one?

I've never had them sit that long, so not sure what to tell you other than "wait it out?"

    good luck!

    Re: Huh.

When I first put together my incubator I checked my thermometers accuracy with another, but I've been using just the one to monitor temps since then.

Oh well, perhaps I'll use two next time. It's not the worse set back for a rookie. I'm just glad they are alive; if I have to wait an extra couple of weeks, so be it. I'm getting quite good at the waiting game at this point anyways

    Re: Huh.

Hey, this morning I looked into my incubator and one of the eggs had bubbles pretty much covering the top of its egg. Can I expect that guy to be coming out within 24 hours or am I just being hopeful?
