Is it true what they say about ASF's
I heard a lot of people saying that ASF have no scent gland which means they have very little or no smell in urine and feces. This means in stead of me cleaning the tank once every 2 weeks I could clean it once a month! So to anyone who owns ASF's do they have a strong smell if any.Would you recommend breeding them.

They still pee and poop the same amount, you need to clean their tanks every week like every other rodent. I think it's pretty nasty that you only clean a rats tub once every 2 weeks.

They do smell a lot cleaner but you should really be cleaning their cage once a week at LEAST twice a month. D:
I mean.. they're basically mice and don't want to be in their own filth all the time.

The smell is minimum I clean my ASF enclosures every other weeks compare to every weeks with regular rats.

Yes, it is true that the smell is next to none. I clean the tanks as they need it.... not sooner then 2 weeks, not more then 3 weeks.

Maybe I'm more sensitive to their smell, cuz they still smell after a week LOL
Just differently than rats.
