    Oldest male breeder died today

Well rats aren't my favorite animals in the world, or else I wouldn't be able to feed them to the snakes, but I do enjoy my breeder rat colony for the most part. Until today the only losses I have had were females in labor and one old breeder female. A couple days ago while cleaning I noticed my oldest breeder male, a very nice Siamese, seemed to have lost a bit of weight. He didn't look horrible but he felt lighter when I picked him up. He started getting a little "rough around the edges" some months ago. When I noticed his weight loss, I had a feeling that his time was coming to an end, so I put one of his sons in his tub to hold back, which I think is a Himalayan. Tonight when I checked on everybody I noticed that the old male had passed away. It was a bit saddening because he was a very nice rat, I had him for a good while. RIP and many thanks.

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

Sorry to hear about your rat passing away.

I love rats too, they are hard to lose. A good breeder male is worth his weight in gold. I find that they are so constant for so long that losing one is always a bit of a shock.

    RIP

I am sorry for your loss. My great-great-??? grandfather rat is still alive..I will miss him when he's gone. He keeps his rack in order..his litters are among the most docile and he sets an example by eating from my hands.

    I feel your loss.

well, sleep well knowing that you provided him the life of the king. you gave him a place to stay, food to eat, and water to drink. You even gave him woman after woman to have his way with. He lived a good life....
