My first hatchling of the year

My first clutch started poking their heads out this weekend. This girl was the first one out of the egg and the first of the year for me. She looks pretty good, I can't wait till she sheds.

I also had one of my female pastels ovulate for me today. This is my first chance at super pastels or yellowbelly pastels so I was stoked to find her blowin' up.

Thanks! Keeping my fingers crossed that I get a nice fertile clutch from that pastel.

I am happy with how it is going so far! I am still on cloud nine from getting some gtp eggs. I only had 12 female BPs to work with but 8 have already laid or ovulated and 3 more are on the verge of blowin' up so I expect to go 11 for 12 this year.

I have a better chance at supers with this clutch since she was bred several times by my pastel and only once by my yellowbelly. My other pastel female that should ovulate any day now was bred heavily by my yellowbelly and if the odds work for me I hope between the two clutches to get a(some) YB-pastel(s).

Thanks Robin, I think she looks somewhat like her mom( my avatar ). This is a dinking project of mine and I can't wait to see the others come out of the egg.

I checked this morning and another one has left its egg. This is a nice looking male yellowbelly.

    Ah, I'm so jealous.
I hope one day that I could have the money and ability to breed these lovely creatures. The satisfaction of getting beautiful healthy offspring and different types of morphs tempts me so.

    Super congrats. :]
