    New rack

This has taken FOREVER to build, but im am super happy with the results!

I made it using this, http://arbreptiles.com/cages/rat_rack/ratrack.shtml

I followed it directly but made a few changes with the food divided in the middle.

Here is all the supplies and I had already cut.

This tool came in handy, It holds the wood tight into perfect 90 degree angles and made my job alot easier. you can see it in work in the link I provided.

Here's my saw, this thing is AWESOME! mainly because I get no angles in my cut, they are perfectly flat.

    Here we go

No watering system yet but Im getting one soon. With everything you see in the top photo, I only paid $98!! I can tell that I already am going to love this thing. I never want to build one again in my life, but now that im done I can sit back and not have to worry ever again about glass tanks

    ....Chop Saw....

I SO want one of those... the woodworkers dream, mega toy!

Anyway, that rack looks great! Someday I might build one like it, but I have enough on the project table with the snake rack and cages I have to build. For now, I'll just use my nice plastic 'rack'

They are fun, but highly dangerous! Twice I almost head butted the blade going to pick up a piece of wood like an idiot

Any kind of system works, I had all of my mice in in all sorts of tubs before I went to rats. I get sick when I smell rats and just got paid so I thought why not go ahead and buy everything now? Their old cages were hard to clean and I was not liking the low ventilation.

If you ever have 100$ to play with and a day off to yourself this is a really great project!

BTW, I just noticed something!!! The first picture of the rats has my two females in a great position to see if they are pregnant, do both of them look prego or is it just me?

That is a great rack! It looks nice and neat. We have our rats in our greenhouse on a metal rack we got a Costco. I just showed my husband your rack and told him I want some like that.

Here is where we have our rats!

They look prego to me too! By the way, that is an adorable picture . . . Looks like they are saying "Dude, thanks for the new condo"

Both females came running to say hi( I moved from the side of the rat to the front) and the males rat to the back. they are both 500 grams of pure fat scaredy cats! I really think the normal one is pregnant, she seems to be getting slowly bigger, and the lighter one might be. They have been with the males for two weeks so we will see soon.
