General Geckos?
A friend of mine brought me 2 general geckos today. My far-reaching internet search skills have brought me to you fine people. I'm asking for any special tips on husbandry for these guys, as i've been unable to find any info on my own. humidity levels, temps, diet, anything you know would be much appreciated.

Re: General Geckos?
Hi and welcome to BP.net!
There's no such species as "General Gecko"....that just means misc gecko topics that don't fit into the other species listings should go here. Do you know exactly what species your new geckos are? It makes a pretty big difference in how they are housed. If you have no idea, maybe you can post some pictures of them? I know folks here won't have any trouble identifying them for you and then pointing you in the right direction for great info!

Re: General Geckos?
that's my point... he named them as "General" geckos. I'd never heard of such a thing, but I'm no expert so what do I know?
Here's the pics.

In the 2nd pic he slightly resembles a golden in the face (like mine) but the color is a bit off.... so im really not sure. Im sure more experienced members will chime in shortly.
I have a golden so if thats what he/she is i can tell you about my setup

Re: General Geckos?
Well the first one is a House gecko (hemidactylus Frenatus) the second one looks like one too, however its a little darker but I am going to say House gecko also.
Here is a link to some care info. I used to keep a couple of these little guys.

Re: General Geckos?
I'd also say that they are likely house geckos. House geckos do vary somewhat in color and pattern--here is a link to some photos: http://www.wildherps.com/species/H.frenatus.html.
