While in shedding process....
While my ball python is in shed can I still hold him?

Re: While in shedding process....
You CAN, however I wouldn't cause him any more undue stress.

Re: While in shedding process....
Yeah, I mostly always never hold any of my snakes when they're in shed. They like to just hang in their humid hides and do their work. The only time I handle them is when I have to do tub or cage maintenance.

Re: While in shedding process....
My snakes become cranky pants when they're in shed, I wouldn't hold them because of the uneeded stress and the cranky pants factor.

Re: While in shedding process....
My boas get really hissy when they're in blue. My royals just let me know I'm bothering their process!

About the only time I would was to give them a nice spray if I think they needed it. Other than that I let them be..

I would leave them be until they are done shedding. It's just unneeded stress for the snake. Plus they don't see so great during a shed.

Re: While in shedding process....
Also, if you spray the snake at a point in their process it tends to make them shed poorly. At best, spray their environment or use moss in their hides to bump the humidity

Re: While in shedding process....
Moss is great for aiding in the shed process. Gotta love that it keeps the humidity up really easy too!
