    RodentTV

I haven't been keeping y'all up to date on my rodent breeding operation, but it exploded...then a minor catastrophe...but we're okay.

Anywho, I now have 6 litters of nearly weaned to weaned baby/small rats on the ground, totally about 50 little squeakers. They live in 7 tubs (tub 1: 2 studly dudes, tubs 2-5: mom plus her babies, tub 6: all the males from the 1st 2 litters, tub 7: all the girls plus one of the moms from the 1st 2 litters). Then I have one litter of mice growing out, one heavily preggers mom mouse and my stud mouse.

It's a lot of squeakers for me, hehe.

Anyway, I cleaned out bedding yesterday, etc. When I had finished, I sat down in a chair I keep in the garage and finished my beer and literally watched "RodentTV", all the rats and mice running around being, well, rats and mice. They're fun to watch. =)

    Re: RodentTV

Oh, I never said what the catastrophe was...

A couple of weeks ago, we had a really HOT weekend...and I lost one nursing rat mom, two nursing mouse moms and euthanized the majority of my grow mice (it was either that or they were gonna die anyway)...

The baby rats with the nursing mom were nearly 100% weaned, so they did fine, but I lost a littler of mouse fuzzies when their mom and then next mom died trying to keep them alive...

It was very sucky. Thankfully it's been quite cool since then and everyone is now doing just fine.

Yea, gotta keep a fan in the room if it's that hot

Okay, well at least I know I'm not the only one that sits back to watch rats after a cleaning. I do it everytime. They're so funny to watch, I literally just sit and watch for like an hour LOL.

I was hoping for a video. I sit back and watch my rodents sometimes. They are funny little buggers.
    Under Construction.....
