i got a fatty!

So I have a first time mom that had a litter of 10. 3 stillborn and 7 healthy. I fed off 3 of the 7 and now have 4 remaining. Mom is doing good and taking excellent care of them.

I was looking at her 4 babies yesterday and noticed that one of them is about twice the size of the others! I know she is only feeding 4 babies now so they are getting fed plenty of milk but gd this dude is big!

I have never had a litter that there was a pup that was this much bigger than the rest. Usually they are within a couple grams or so of each other.

Anywho...I thought I would share a few pics.

THATs what im talking about!! I have a female give birth to just 4 and they are huge, even bigger than that fella! They dwarf my other litter that is 6 days older. Nice fat babies!

These are a lil over a week.

I am afraid to pull anymore from that litter...his belly may explode if he gets to have even more milk! It already looks like it is going to!

That is a chubby one. My wife would end up naming it keeping it as a pet.

Last night we had a mom give birth to 19 that we could count! We had concerns over her being able to keep up with that many. We took 4 of them and put them in with another mum who only had 6 pups that were 3 days old. None of our other moms are nursing at this time so these two girls are going to have to pull the load together! The mom was actually slated as a feeder until we figured she was prego. After having this many pups we can't feed her off now. She goes into the breeder stock.
