Good snake day at work! june 1st

Saw a total of 5 snakes in 2 hours. Not too shabby this time o the year when the water is pretty much gone.......

    Thamnophis couchii (ohhhh the funkness)

The Cutest Nightsnake Ever. (Hypsiglena torquata)

and a little bitty Masticophis lateralis

the other 2 sightings were both T. sirtalis fitchii, but both were faster than I was........

We do it because we don't know the common names. We aren't allowed to use them at work since common names can reference more than one species......... (ie the term Blue Belly is used for quite a few species of sceloporus lizards).
