    New World Cichlids

Here are a few of my cichlids from an aggressive "community tank".

    Flowerhorn bought as Amphilophus trimaculatus.

Commonly mistaken for a Texas Cichlid (Herichthys cyanoguttatum) this is myHerichthys carpinte (he's a tried and true fighter, scars to prove it)

Archocentrus nigrofasciatus aka Convict. Female wouldn't come out for the shoot.

(Amphilophus citrinellum sp. aka Barred Midas, he's also a fighter.

    Just a wee Amphilophus labiatus

And my most recent addition, a rescue from work, and something we normally wouldn't sell. A Blood Parrot Cichlid.

I love cichlids because they have much more personality than most fish.

Sweet! I love cichlids! Topping the list of my favorites is the Oscar of course!

I had a Blood Parrot and Jewel that mated constantly. The Parrot would lay eggs frequently and the Jewel would guard them for days and then would get tired of it and eat them!

My favorite Cichlid by far is the Managuense (sp?) Cichlid. They are soooooo cool! You should look into them for sure!
