    Pond herping

Well, while it was a bad day- I did get to see some native herps today.
I was at a sit, walking Diesel the Boxer (I just adore him, he is too cute!). We went down to the pond to watch the ducks like we do each day.
Today we saw a large RES, 2 bullfrogs, a bullfrog tadpole (man that thing was HUGE) and Northern Water Snakes- a whole bunch of them. There were 6 of the snakes, all suning themselves by the waters edge. As we got closer, a couple of them went into the water but 2 stayed right where they were and just looked at us. I think I will bring my camera tomorrow and hope they are out again so I can get pics.

    Haha, you dreamer.

Do you think you will see anything if you have your camera with you?

    Re: Pond herping

I went down to the pond/creek near my house a few days ago hoping to find some water snakes, or possibly some black rats in the forest.

Didn't find anything... except a HUGE cottonmouth I almost stepped on! At that point I decided it was a good idea to end my little expedition before something else ended it for me
