    Not all asf are biters

I have been breeding and keeping asf for quite some time now with no bites. I have had squables between cagemates here and there but to date neither me or my wife have taken a bite. I have seen other peoples rats and have seen the aftermath of peoples fingers from it but luckily that has not happened here. I have been tagged by rats and mice in the past, but I have totally switched my breeding to ASF since. I love that they really do not carry any odor and breed pretty prolific once they have matured, which can take a bit of time. I think as time goes on and these really neat rodents become more readily available they will take there place right up next rats and mice on the frozen rodent websites. Making them a good alternative to the usual rodents available now. I have included some pics for your viewing pleasure.

The last pic is of one of the males. He likes to lay out in your hand and is really lazy. He is just starting to breed with the two females that are in with him. Breeding and eating seem to be his biggest motivators

I am also able to handle my asf. I didn't produce them, so this is exciting that they are already so tame. Even with babies.
