    SIGNATURE Reminder

I would like to take this time to remind everyone to review the TOS/Rules of the site.

    http://ball-pythons.net/forums/annou...t.php?f=89&a=9

And to specifically draw your attention to this paragraph:

    5. Signatures must be limited in scope. No more than the equivalent of 10 lines of standard text in a 1024x768 resolution. (A size 1 font will allow for more lines of text.) Banner graphics must be limited to a maximum of 450 pixels wide by 100 pixels high and 150 kilobytes in size. Members sporting extraordinarily flashy graphics in their signatures may be asked to remove/change them. Signatures including both graphics and text must still not exceed the equivalent of 10 lines of text.
More and more reminders are having to go out, asking people to please reduce the size of their signatures. Especially with the latest "dragon egg craze" we're seeing a lot of sigs exceeding the limits set for signature graphics. ALL graphics included in your signature must not exceed a total of 100 pixels tall and 450 pixels wide. And the total length of the signature, including graphics AND text should not exceed the equivelent of ten lines of standard text.

If your eggs fit...please be sure the dragons will fit as well when they "grow up."

If you need to be reminded repeatedly to fix your signature, you may find it deleted without further notice and may even lose the privilege of having one.

Please take a moment to review your signature and make sure it stays within the bounderies set here. I know it may seem like a small issue....but it's the little things that keep the site tidy and pleasant for everyone to use.

Thank you for your attention and all you do to make BP.net the most awesome herp forum on the 'Net!

Hey folks....let's not turn this thread into a "How does mine look" discussion. Because as soon as you change it, the new sig will show up in this thread and make whatever reply that was originally given meaningless.

If you have a question about your signature length or content, please feel free to PM Shelby, as she is our resident signature expert.

    Re: SIGNATURE Reminder

Since Judy posted this I've been wondering how I can tell exactly how big the graphics in my signature are. I can see the size of each individual graphic, but there is space between them and so the size of the whole row of dragons is bigger than the sum of its parts.

So, my BF offered to make this nifty little box so I can at least eyeball it. I thought it might be helpful to other people as well. Maybe it will save Shelby from having to look at quite so many signatures! I know there are plenty of other ways to do this and be more precise, but I think this is great for just a quick idea of if you are in the right size range.

The white area inside the box is exactly 100x450. If your graphics fit inside the box, they are good. If they go into or over the black line, they are too big.

    Casey
