    New ASF Project!

Well Jamie and I decided to start breeding our own ASFs. They've worked so well for our problem eaters and don't have the normal offensive rat odor -- seemed like an easy choice.

Here's the little guys on their way home in their snug little bucket.

You can see a few of the girls are preggers and look ready to pop at any moment.

They'll be in aquariums until the production hopefully expands much more and we can build these guys some racks.

Special thanks to the "ASF King of New Jersey" for getting us started.

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

They're just small plastic ones. We were going to use glass but these were the only ones that would fit the aquariums we have right now.

i think you need to buy some more snakes. Cause we have 2 pairs and produce enough for 5 snakes and still have enough to sell/give away.

Oh they look nice Amy - congrats! I want some of those light, red eyed ones (the ASF equivalent to an albino I guess). Can't find any of those locally though but I'm on the hunt for them to add to our own growing colonies of ASF's.

    Re: New ASF Project!

My ASFs went thru 7 plastic water bottles before I gave in and bought the expensive glass ones. They are harder to mountin a tank, but it can be done. They WILL chew through anything you put in the tank that isnt glass or metal. The record for a single ASF to chew thru one of my plastic water bottles was ~3 hours. BTW I want those lighter colored ones in my colony too!!!
