How do I answer this questions, I have been trying to figure this out forever, errrrrr, here it is,
Find the two consecutive odd integers who's sum is 76.
please help. lol

Easy! Divide 76 in half, that gives you 38. So, add 37 and 39 to get 76. There are your two consecutive odd integers.

I think the equation would be something like x+y= 76.... just dont know how you would show that they are consecutive....

X+Y=76. (x+1)+(y-1)=76 to be more accurate. My BF is a college Algebra tutor.

Your equations does resolve itself correctly. X + 1 + X - 1 = 76 --> 2X = 76 ----> X = 38 which is not the answer you are looking for.

I think you'd need to do .... X + (X + 2) = 76 ----> 2X = 74 ----> X = 37 and X + 2 = 39

I think I got that right.
