Just a picture with new camera...

I'm just tossing in a pic of my boa. Still playing around with the new camera, getting used to things.

Wow very nice pics, Connie. What kind of camera did you end up getting?

Re: Just a picture with new camera...

On the awesome recommendation from AndrewH, I went with the Canon Rebel XT. I think that's the same one Ashley uses too. It really is a HUGE difference from my old one, the Canon Powershot s3 IS. (That was brand new till I bought this one!)

He also recommended a 50mm lens, that I got for a decent price. And by decent I mean I would have had to pay just as much with shipping to have it delivered on Monday.

Those setting are in auto, and just lucky shots. The colors came out so true because the cypress mulch was so close in color.

But yes, I am absolutely loving this camera!! Now I just have to learn how to use it.

BEAUTIFUL pictures, beautiful snake!! well done, i love its eyes, smokin!

yup!! I use a canon rebel XTi and i LOVE MY CAMERA!!!

I need to get a new battery for it though, keeps dying fairly quickly on me, i suppose after 1½yrs i shouldnt be complaining. I think ive taken 4951 pics with it to date (EEEK!) lol.. i wouldnt admit that to anyone but you guys though

the 50mm will make a world of a difference, the only pit-fall is there is no zoom, you become the zoom hehehe.. i have the kit 18-55mm and the 75-300mm lens.

Once you learn to shoot on manual, you will never go back!! there is a great photography forum (wont list it here, pm me) that shares all kinds of tricks and its neat just to see what other people are shooting (i love looking at other peoples work) there is such a world of possibilities when you shoot in manual. For these being some of your first pics, youve done an amazing job
