Unhappy Keep Tut in your thoughts.

Our large yellow foot is on his way to surgery in the morning.
He prolapsed this evening. No idea what went wrong. We take so much care with his diet and everything. The vet had us bathe him, put him in a lrg. smooth plastic tub with KY jelly on the prolapse till she can see him. We are so upset. He is definately a favorite here. WHY ON SUNDAY NIGHT! NONE of the emergency vets anywhere in driving distance treat exotics! 7 am seems like forever!! With Country dying it has not been a good week!

Re: Keep Tut in your thoughts.

Tut came thru surgery just fine!! He'll be home in the morning. No parasites or other problems. We were talking and I think he has been conning us out of too many treats. Apparently he was getting more than we thought. Both of us will have to report to the other in the future on what he has got. We have got to buckle down and quit paying attention to his begging! Yes turtles beg!! We are not sure it was the food because he eats a balanced diet for the most part. But no other reason was found.

    Thanks folks.
He comes home in 2 hrs. Kelly treats him like a child. He follows us around like a little puppy. Not a shy bone in his body. He even has an aunt to visit down the street. The most outgoing tort I've ever seen. Now to find out the culprit and keep him healthy.

Glad he is doing better And yes, turtles know how to beg. In fact, my red belly does it as well as the dogs!
