    Re: SCALE ROT????? help

I had a similar problem about a month ago.
    Follow these steps:
-take everything out of his/her cage and clean everything.
-change out your current substrate for Viva paper towels (there a little more expensive but the best)
-make sure the water dish can't be knocked over and until the scale rot clears up don't worry too much about humidity. The goal is to keep the snake clean and dry.
-get a triple antibiotic ointment (make sure it doesn't have a pain killer in it).
-put the ointment on once a day and just monitor it.

Make a call to your vet just to get him/her checked, while it may not be a severe case it doen't hurt to get them looked at.

You should be fine if you follow these instructions.
    Cheers

    Re: SCALE ROT????? help

Hmm, my little guy dumped his water dish the other night while I was sleeping then I looked at his humidity (65%) and thought, "jee, thats kinda high" then I noticed him sleeping under his SOAKING WET hide. I cleaned his tank up and dried everything but he did have an odd yellow tinge to his entire belly for a few days. It doesn't sound to be that same thing and I can't really tell by the photo, but as mentioned, keep him dry and the humidity around 50. My bp's belly is nice and white again. That sux about the vet bill though. well at least hes dewormed

Yeah I have to pay some more when the blood works back I just couldnt afford it at the time. Dont know quite how im gonna pay it though lol. Oh well dont care. Only reason I wanted the blood work done is because his gums and mouth are very inflamed Plus I figured it couldnt hurt.
