    Re: yellow bellies

I have a red belly which is very similar. Awesome turtles, friendly & entertaining- mine begs for food & attention. Basic is an aquarium- can be a 20 long for the babies, a really good filter, a floating dock or something for them to bask on, light & turtle sticks. They do grow fairly fast, mine is a little over 2 now and is prob about 8 inches and is moving up into a 55 gallon breeder tank next week. Just be aware that these guys live a looong time and reach a decent size (I think 12-18 is average but brain is fried right now so don't take my word on it. )
A 20 is NOT going to be enough when they get larger, no matter what the petstores tell you.
I will post more when I am not so fried.

i see now the tank right now i'm useing is a jamaica 50-60 basically its an open air tank that i have a platform in the corner. As of monday i am going to pick up a socket or heat lamp for basking. I do have a big debate on hand though should i use gravel or sand? also can you recommend temperatures that they require.
