Talking My first albino! (dial up warning)

Finally! I've been absolutely drooilng over albinos for YEARS, and despite spending comparable chunks of money on plenty of boa projects, could never quite justify an albino ball python to my fiance, Joey. It was always the wrong snake at the wrong time, just never really worked out.

Anyway, we were at the Unique and Exotic Animal Expo on Sunday and I was searching for either a yellow-belly or a female pastel. But we got a flat tire on the way and got there late as a result, so everything was pretty much picked over. Saw an interesting boa that I almost left with, but Joey talked me down.

On the way out the door, we both kind of slowed to a stop beside a gorgeous little 500 gram, 2 year old male albino ball python. I held him for a few minutes and asked Joey if he wanted to hold him to, and he said "No thanks, I know what they feel like. Plus it's already clear you've made up your mind."

So I thought about that for a few minutes and asked him if I was incorrect in taking that to mean I had the go-ahead to buy him. Joey just kind of rolled his eyes and nodded, so I jumped on it before he could change his mind!

Long story short, little Lemony Snicket made the long drive back home with us, utterly charmed the socks off the girls at the late-nite Starbucks drive-through, and is currently settling in quite nicely!

He's gorgeous. I love his face. But I'm also wondering why he's so small at 2 years of age.

Yeah, 500 grams at 2 years is pretty light - but he looks good! Congrats!

Yep, he's an early '06 and just barely 500 grams on empty! I was SO surprised when I first handled him, he's just a chunk of muscle!
