They don't smell like mice, stay smaller than rats, and often help picky eater resume feeding.
Just keep in mind that if you plan on feeding those type rats to your BP, there is always a chance that your BP will not switch back, which could make it hard if you had to re-home one of them, as not everyone has access or want to keep ASF.
I would not consider starting hatchling on ASF for the same reasons.

I bought a snake that had only ever eaten ASF rats, and I had no trouble at all getting him to take a rat pup. So, if your snake isn't a picky eater, then I would think she would switch back fairly easily.
