This Rat Too Big? (Picture)
This is a small rat. The snake is a little over two feet. The snake is larger than the rat in girth, but I'm worried that the rat is too long. Any comments?

Thanks,

It's hard to tell from the picture, but the rat looks to be on the large side. I have no doubt that the snake can eat it, but I think he would be pretty sedated for a few days lol.
If you think it's too big, then it probably is.

Gotta agree with Connie,
Why not try a weaned rat and see how it goes.

Re: This Rat Too Big? (Picture)
The snake is actually slightly larger around then the rat. I have been feeding him adult mice but those are now way too small. The petstores around don't have anything to fill the gap between large mice and small rats. I might just try 2 large mice if the majority of the responses agree that this rat is too big. He might not even take the rat anyway.
Would there be any danger in feeding him the rat? It looks really big to be, but this is my first snake so I'm second guessing myself.

Re: This Rat Too Big? (Picture)
The only danger or harm I can think of is a regurge. He looks like he can get it down, but if his body can't handle it, he will regurge.
It's sort of a poor picture to go off of though, if he were stretched out next to it, many of our opinions may change.
