    Ohhhhhh

Ohhhh.... I saw some Asian Vine Snakes in store the other day. They are soooo amazing. Does anyone have them? I've been wondering about them, because I know they are partly Venomous. Is it possible to feed them rodents? I've read that you can, and also that they won't eat them....

Also, I though that the Western Hognose snakes were pretty cool....

I dont know about the Asian Vine Snakes, but the Western Hoggies take rodents pretty easily. Beware... the Eastern Hoggies are alot more difficult in reguards to switching over to rodents.

Best of luck in your search.

Nah, you should get the Western Hognose. They feed readily on mice and are very easy to care for (I can say this because I'm a beginner snake owner and I have one).

Just make sure if you end up going with a Hoggy, that it is already taking mice. I have heard it is very difficult to get them feeding if they don't already take them.

From what I've heard, Asian vines are real hard to convert to mice, oftentimes never do. Never kept them myself, but they are rather interesting animals to look at.

    Re: Ohhhhhh

I'm quite partial to the hoggies..

I've actually wanted to see what would happen if I fed mine a frog.. so we got one, and fed it to her... she took it quick.
but I don't have a shy snake.. AT ALL!

and she still takes the mice. except for right now.

Cool. I am definitely getting a hoggy when I have more room, and an Asian vine snake when I have more experience . lol

Good. You made the right decision. Just a tip: try to get a 2 month old female hognose or older (a month old or less can be shy and sometimes refuse food). Males don't grow very big (2 feet at most) but females average 2 feet in length, making them a heck of a lot bigger than males.
