Re: Roaches and celery
Celery is great for adding moisture to their diet, but alone, I doubt it's very nutritional balanced.

I agree with celery good for moisture, but celery has no other nutrients!

Re: Roaches and celery
I used to use it a lot for moisture for my meal worm colony. Split it in half first to expose the juicy insides.

Haha, I didn't even notice the age of this thread. So, why'd you sell your roaches? Didn't like them or didn't need them?

Re: Roaches and celery
Yeah, I've been looking at them and researching them and toying with the idea of starting a colony for a long time now. They sound like a pretty ideal food bug, but I'm still kind of leary about the whole 'roach' thing.... If they called them flightless tropical beetles I'd probably have them by now.... But that 'cockroach' name still has me a little spooked.

The orange spotted roaches ( Blaptica dubia) are great just great just for that reason. They don't look like your typical nasty infest a house roach! Very easy to care for.....give them a little heat...clean once a month....feed'em....and trust me they WILL produce! fat and juicy and whatever your feeding will enjoy! Oh yea, and they can't climb smooth surfaces...which is a plus!
