A few of my horse paintings

Here are a few of my horsey paintings. I admit, they are a few years old. I really need to get off of my butt and do more! It is tough with working alot, but I will try..

    Here goes! Please critique away.
Older Thoroughbred portrait. I call him "Doberman."

    House/farm/riding scene

    Detail of English riders

A general horse body study of pastured variations

Galloping; this one gets a tad abstract around the horse's legs and proportion; it just turned out that way

Re: A few of my horse paintings

Thanks That was one that I just created without a sketch or even a plan. Just painted a rough outline in black, did the background black, and went at it with red and white/black.

"Barbarella" and "Janis" are my favorites. I like the energy in "Janis", very nice.

Thanks. Barbarella is actually the most recent one of the group. In that one, I was experimenting with less outlining, and more shadowing for realism.

I also love the Red one, Janis. I love the colors and the texture it has. Nice work, overall, keep painting! I like your tattoo concept as well. I design tattoos, or well I used to It's fun

Re: A few of my horse paintings

Thanks! I have been not painting much because in winter, it seems like my chores triple. Having horses in every night makes for a barn that needs a cleaning every night! But I am making time between work, housework, and social life to paint.

I like the tattoo idea! I wish I could draw, so I could do my idea. But it's still in my head.
