    CHE problem.

I currently set up a new tank for me ball python, I want a display tank. I got a CHE today, and I plug it in, and it does not work. No heat at all is coming off. Although when I first plugged it in. It went on for a bit. I just tested it. So I unplugged it. Now it doesn't want to work. Anyone wanna help me out please?

CHE's take some time to heat up. I'd let it sit for maybe five minutes... if it's still not working, I'd take it back and get a new one. They generally last for 2-3 years.

    Hi,

What kind of socket/ poower connection does it have? Could you test the socket with a light bulb for example?

What kind of thermostat do you have it connected to?

I bought it from the expo today.

And it's not connected to a thermostat. Do I need one?
And I tested the socket on a light bulb. Works fine.

    Hi,

Well there should be instructions etc with the one you bought but I know the ones I'm using can get to 700c unregulated so I always use thermostats on ceramics.

Hmm. It just says I need a "clamp lamp"
The lasy at the show said normal heat lamps work fine.
    Unless I got ripped off...

    Re: CHE problem.

The CHE should have instructions on the box it came in... generally they suggest you use their brand of clamp lamp.

I know you tested the socket, but have you tested the actual lamp... maybe there's a flaw in the cord somewhere?

I know you got it at an expo, but if it's still open, I'd take it back. Did you get a receipt? It should have the seller's info if you can't get back into the expo. Maybe you could contact them and get a replacement?

I live 2 hours away from the expo and I'm also not too sure who the vendor was.. I'll look into it. And also I know the lamp works. Theres a light in it right now.
