    Just Sharing (DIAL-UP WARNING)

Hi everyone. I belong to a couple of other forums, but didn't realize that this one has a board for chondros and carpet pythons too. I'm about to start diving into all the threads to see what I've been missing, but in the meantime, here are my green tree pythons:

Ted Striker: Male, 1450g, approx. 3 years old, acquired in June '07. Supposedly captive bred but I purchased him 2nd hand and cannot locate the breeder. Type/locality unknown but close inspection reveals Sorong-like blue pattern, and he definitely has the gentle Sorong disposition. Easy to handle.

Ted has his own blog here.

Elaine Striker: Female, 500g, approx. 2 years old, acquired in June '07. Same situation as above in terms of the breeder. Elaine is clearly a Biak type, both in appearance and disposition. She's not aggressive but she is nervous and has bitten my oldest daughter. I handle Elaine frequently without problems, but she can't be taken for granted.

Note the malformed scales between her eyes and the way her eyes bulge out. This appears to be evidence of an old scar that, when it healed, pulled the skin away from her eyes and toward the center of her head. The vet says all is cool. The incident predates my ownership of her.

Finally, here is my most recent acquisition. My working name for her is Jadix, but I'm contemplating calling her what she is: Impulse Purchase. Female, 150g, hatched August '06, captive born at Bushmaster's Indonesian farm, and purchased in October '07 from Rico Walder, owner of Signal Herpetoculture. Type/locality is Manokwari, which to my eyes isn't much different than Sorong. The two regencies (Sorong and Manokwari) are adjacent on the map, so there may be no meaningful differences between the types. She has the same sweet disposition that Sorongs are known to have, and she's certainly easy to handle for one so young.

Enjoy, and I look forward to looking through all your photos too.
