What keeps me up till 1:30 in the morning?

an emergency vet visit for my dog. Heres what happened. Me and my wife were cleaning up after dinner last night. My dog comes in the kitchen gaging and coughing and licking at nothing. He coughs and spits out blood. My wife freaks!!!! So we jump in the truck and rush to the after hours vet clinic downtown all the while he's gaging and coughing and whining. They take him in and sedate him to look and see what was going on with him. Low and behold the cat had knocked over a thing of tooth picks while we were cleaning up and he though they would make a great little after meal snack. He had three buried in his wind pipe. So after a 20 minute drive, an endoscope removal of objects, injections and anti-inflammatory we got home at 1:30 and I have to be up at 5:30 so needless to say I am running on coffee and fumes right now.

Moral of the story. Dogs are like kids they'll put anything in their mouths

Your cat sets up the dog too??!!!

Ha ha....our cat is always knocking stuff off the counter, then the dog eats it. Worse was a bottle of medicine that it got ahold of. The rest is usually something related to food....but the cat always 'throws' stuff on the floor for the dog to eat....I think it is some sort of conspircy between the two.

Glad to hear the puppy is doing ok!

That must have been very scary eh! I'm happy your dog is alright now!
I would have freaked out too if I saw a dog spit blood!
But I'm gald everyone is OK!
Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.

Why is it called 'after dark' when it really is 'after light'?

Yes I did My first though was where are the steak knives. Cause I have heard stories about dogs swallowing knives so that was my first thing we checked.

I just called and checked on him and he is still out of it from the meds but doing loads better.

Wow Ed...I am glad to hear he is going to be OK. I remember last year when my Chihuahua got mauled by a larger dog and the hours of stress and worry.

Looking back at the story now I can LMAO thinking about the cat sitting on the counter.."opps"..."here doggie doggie"..."good doggie"........YIKES...."what toothpicks, I have no idea what you are talking about"
