Neptune and his new pal (DU nono)

Been decorating the new enclosures, which Neptune LUVS. Ma-tsu is still hiding and getting ready to shed mostly. I went with a forest temple theme for her, and for Neptune I went with gators for some reason. Mostly because gators are cute I guess. He is TOO adorable with them.

Sorry about the flash! Still working on getting better pics through glass. I know you're supposed to line it up with the glass, but easier said.

First, here's a few shots of Ma-tsu lazily checking out her new digs.

Neptune has a garland coming too, but it's a pain to get them up and he's been so active he's just got the minimal for now. He also has a tree, but its so lightweight he keeps knocking it over so we took it out till we can get it filled with sand or something to weigh it down. He shed right before I took these. Well, obviously, by the shed in the pic, lol.

He's so handsome... it blows my mind. And it's SO nice to see him so excited and relaxed!

Please excuse the stains on his hide. He likes to go on top of it, and all of my scrubbing gets the smell out but not the color. I'd buy him a new one, but he'd just stain that one too.

This one is my favorite... a little overly fond of our decor, are we Neptune?

"I'ma gator! RAWR!" I got that cute plastic momma gator and her babies at a hobby store. I've been tempted to get it so many times, nice to finally have an excuse.

I use those same cages for my ball and Beardie (smaller of course) how do you like them for your beauties? I was thinking about using that kind of cage when i get my little guy.

Thanks! The enclosures (it's 2, stacked) are from http://www.animalplastics.com/ and I love them for the beauties! I'd love to have a whole bunch of them someday for my Asian ratsnakes.

Oh Sheree these pics are priceless! LOL The one with his mouth open had me giggling..."look I'm a gator too! RAWWWRRRRR!". Neptune must think he's Steve Irwin of the snakey world! Thanks so much for sharing them.

How's he doing with being handled these days? More relaxed about the whole process?

Re: Neptune and his new pal (DU nono)

Funny thing is, the snake actually *named* Irwin is parked right above him! So much cute, I'm glad I went with this theme for him. And the yawn/rawr was such a lucky shot! I love how it looks like the momma gator is looking sideways at him there like "Suuure you are."

Neptune likes the hook, still, much more than being touched by hands but he's doing better! We've been so distracted with vet dramas this year, I haven't been able to work with him as much as I'd like. But between the hook, having more space and up higher (he's intimidated by people looming over him), and my not using the gloves (bad association, I think) he's doing worlds better. I love that handsome nut to bits and pixels, it's awesome to see him so relaxed!
