Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council (PIJAC)

Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council (PIJAC) is the world’s largest pet trade association which represents all segments of the pet industry. The reptile community works every year to raise funs to support PIJAC. These fundraisers include some of the auctions that occur at large reptile shows.

I just thought I would make a post letting everyone know that the council exists and that it is worth knowing about if you are involved with breeding reptiles.

PIJAC has also developed a National Reptile Improvement Plan that is an interesting read:

Re: Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council (PIJAC)

Usually at the NARBC shows, they have a PIJAC auction in which animals and items are donated, and all the proceeds go to PIJAC.

There are many ways you can help them. Find one you like and do it!!

Re: Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council (PIJAC)

PIJAC is mainly known to people in the reptile community because of the NARBC shows. However, there are so many people that do not attend those shows and a lot that are not even aware of PIJAC's existance. I just wanted to get a thread going so that people of this site can be informed about an organization that contributes greatly to the protection of this hobby.

Thanks for contributing Heather. Great to know that others are aware

That applies to me, 100%. I haven't yet been to an NARBC show and had no idea such a thing as the PIJAC existed; thanks for taking the time to post this and educate my ignorant self, lol! Much appreciated.
