Best frog subtrate ??
I am thinking of changing the frogs subtrate , not real thrilled with what we have. Jungle bedding.
Does anyone have a good home made mix that is good for them for burrowing down in?
I have organic peat moss and organic soil, not sure how healthy that would be or the ratio of a mix.
We have a pacman, whites dumpys, cane toad and a chubby. Include any info that may help as far as special needs for the individual types.
Thanks

Re: Best frog subtrate ??
For the White's, I would go with a drier mixture and just mist once a day. For the others though, you can use sphagnum peat moss, mixed with soil, you can also mix some cypress in there and it will add some volume for burrowing. I've used a mixture of soil or bed a beast, cypress and long-fibered sphagnum moss, as well as some orchid bark(at home depot or other garden centers, made by miracle grow, but no additives). Seems to be a good mixture and they can burrow to their little froggy desire.

Re: Best frog subtrate ??
Thanks Becky
That's along the idea I had, but didn't want to risk their health by just jumping in. Would hate anything to happen to the "kids". We've had the dumpys about 5 yrs now.
