    Kingsnake pet care Info

My friend really wants a pet snake. It just happens to be that the local petstore has several Californian Kingsnakes in stock. Would that be a good beginner's pet for him?-MechWarrior

Kingsnakes are great beginner snakes very easy to maintain.

The only thing is that when they are young they tend to musk and can bite if they are restrained, but it quickly goes away with regular handling sessions.

What do you mean by regular handling sessions? How often is that?

I handle mine 3 to 5 times a week. No biting and no more musking.
