    New Hognose

Well... my daughter got a western hognose for her birthday. (awwwww hognose snakes are soo darn cute!) Other than our macklotts, this is the only non ball python in the house. Both of us have read up on them quite a bit but I am always looking for more info from people who own them. He is a little over a year old, and eats pinky mice with no issues, live and frozen, which I heard it can be rough to get them to eat.
Oh and pictures will be up after a settle in period.

I'm a hognose fan but they're never availible at my local petstore! I'm surprised your hognose snake isn't picky like most are when it comes to feeding (they almost never eat anything but toads). How is that?

Because Westerns more readily switch to rodents than Easterns.

    Re: New Hognose

Try this: have your daughter put her hands under the sink and cup them, and put them in front of the Hognose snake. I'm pretty sure the Hognose will drink out of her hands.
