Wild snake in the snake room!
This is too odd/hilarious to not share. So, it's late at night, I'm doing a final check & misting of my snakes, look down at the carpet, and...
"OMG one got out!! ...Wait a minute, that doesn't look like any of mine..."
So, a li'l baby brown snake (?Not sure what kind? It's one of the itty ones, about 6-7 inches long, solid brown w/ lighter belly) was just innocently crawling across the floor of my room. I just found it so odd that he turned up in a room that was ALREADY full of snakes...
I'm turning him loose in the morning, but for now he's hanging in a plastic critter keeper with some aspen bedding and water. He's a squirmy little guy, almost got away!

Nope, that's not the one...I've been looking at some pictures and it might be a Ground Snake? He looks kind of like this, like the one on top of the striped on in the left-hand picture. He's just solid brown, no markings or pattern at all, with a slightly lighter belly. I've found five or six other ones, but all outside while I was mowing, so it seems like they're pretty common around here!

lol; that must have been funny, thinking "who got out.. no one!"
I have garters that live in my basement, but I have not seen them in the house itself yet..

That's really funny. Maybe he heard rumors of free food.

Yeah, we live in GA and find little tiny brown snakes in our pool that kind of look like this one.

Brown snakes are primarily insectivorous, feeding off of yes, slugs and earthworms lol. I'm sure that they are more than capable of taking pink mice, but it would never happen.
